PRESS RELEASE

Local dentist uses Laser device to uncover dental decay that is missed 76 % of the time in conventional examinations.

Our office has integrated a Diagnodent laser device to aid in the diagnosis of dental ecay at the earliest stage enabling his patients to protect and preserve their teeth.

Often during examination, there are certain areas that are unclear on x-ray or clinically and dentists conventionally dismiss these areas as "to be watched". Far too often, we "watch" these areas develop into major problems often requiring major problems often requiring major treatments such as root canal, and crowns.

Diognodent allows Dr Mechanic to document the various stages of caries development without subjecting patients to x-ray exposure.

The technology is based on laser induced flurorescence which occurs when enamel reemits a portion of the laser light that it absorbs. when carious enamel is irradiated aiding in the diagnosis of dental decay.
